Well here we are again and guess what, I am finally getting as many good days as I do bad, fantastic, that means I am finally on the mend.
Yesterday was a bad day so I will get that out of the road early so that I can tell you all about a typical day in the life of happy Jannette. As I said yesterday was a bad day, I spent most of it in tears as I had made the decision to ask the doctor if I could go back to work and it was scary, I was really not looking forward to it as it means that I will be amongst people again and I haven't had much contact with the outside world over the last few months, I was too scared to go out as people may talk to me and I wasn't sure that I could cope with having to get involved in conversations, this coming from the woman who usually suffers from verbal diarrhoea, its so strange now looking back to think that I was like that, anyway, I went to doctors and he has said I can go back to work at the beginning of April so the next two weeks are going to be spent preparing for it, if I hadn't been so poorly with my infection the other week I would probably have gone back Monday but hey ho!
Right thats the bad stuff now welcome to Jannettes world.
Today has been a very typical Jannette day. It started off fine, I was up early and was planning to go into work to take my final sick note in, however this never happened, I was going to go swimming after work and then for councelling but backed out of the swimming as it meant going on my own, then I remembered that my aunty and her friend go on a Friday to the baths in East Hull and that was where the fun began, I rang work and explained that I wouldnt be going in until Monday / Tuesday and got myself ready. As I was a bit late setting off I missed my bus so decided to get a taxi and waited for it outside the local Co-Op. Whilst waiting there was a lady with a Shetland pony collecting for local disabled children, somehow I ended up holding the reins on the pony while she went to the ladies room, I still haven't quite worked out how it came about and I didn't earn any proceeds for her as my shouting was like a load of garbled rubbish but I did it. I sent Ian a picture of the pony asking him if we could have one instead of a dog, he admitted when I arrived home that he had laughed when he got the text as it coould only happen to me!
When the taxi arrived it was Beany who was driving and I hadnt seen him in ages so a right good chat was the order of the day, the fish I had given him a while back where all doing well. thats good, all my
babies that I kept have died except one, never mind, he is happy anyway.
On arrival at baths I paid my money (well really I used my Tonic card) and toddled off to swim a lap or two. I managed 30 lengths, I am still surprised by this but I am also really pleased, that being said I dont think my body is very happy as I now ache like mad and as for my butt cheeks, well if I dont wake tomorrow with a nice round peach for a bottom then there is sonething seriously wrong.
After that we took a walk into town for some lunch, I had a baguette with pork, stuffing and gravy with some crackling thrown in for good measure, it was delicious, the only thing is, the people that I was with neglected to tell me that I had managed to get gravy on my cheek so I spent the rest of the day walking round like a geek.
After lunch I had to leave as it was time to go for my monthly councelling session, I was a bit early so went for a walk around Boyes for some wool so that I could knit a new Puddy Cat, whilst looking I ended up having a really nice conversation about knitting with a lady from Keyingham, she was telling me that she doesnt get into Hull very often and how she had just made an owl but her daughter had pinched it to put in her car. Now this may seem a bit boring to you but for me it was such an achievement as I havent had the courage to hold a full conversation with a complete stranger for absolutely ages.
Anyway after that it was time for me to go get my councelling. Off I trotted to the new purpose built building, very posh it was, did some exploring and eventually had to ask someone where I needed to be, finally in the correct department I called at the reception desk, gave them my name and told them who I was there to see then took a seat. From where I was sat I could see a few of the staff talking and looking over at me, after a few minutes one of them came and checked on who I was there to see, I gave his name again then got an overwhelming feeling that I had to check my phone to make sure I was at the right place, this I did and guess what, I was 3 days too late. I had the right building and time just the wrong day, oh well as Meatloaf allways says, two out of three aint bad!!!!
Now I wonder what little adventures tomorrow will bring.
