Well what a weekend this has been, it has been good and I have really enjoyed myself, wow its such a long time since I honestly said that and meant it.
Lets start with yesterday, my son and his misses took me to walk Bailey, we also took Rex and Melvin the granddogs with us so that they could all get to know each other, what fun we had walking around Sutton Fields Industrial Estate and then letting them play with a ball on a field. the only down side was that neither Melvin or Bailey where allowed off their leads so Rex had a fantastic time winding them both up, especially Bailey who was desperate to play, instead he ended up doing sommersaults through the air, mad dog! When we finally took him back to the kennels I warned them that he was muddy, 'thats ok, we like muddy dogs' they said, then proceeded to stroke him, 'wow he is muddy' oops!!!
While we where there I started to tell them about the Shetland pony the day before, my daughterinlaw then proceeded to tell them about the time I rescued a duckling. That was a really interesting rescue as the poor thing was trying to cross a dual carriageway in the tea time rush hour, it was just a tiny ball of fluff and absolutely terrified, I was cycling past when I saw it and had to do something, super hero Jannette to the rescue, I parked my bike and started chasing this little duck and stopping it from going into the middle of the road so that it didnt get killed, I dont know how long this took but even though it was small it was extremely fast, in the end I had to stop the traffic and a lady that was also a cyclist managed to get the little guy trapped between her foot and front wheel, so we was able to capture him. In the mean time a nice man who lived near by had given me a shoe box in which to put him in so in he went. I then cycled home with him in the shoe box in my basket. Once home I was sat with him in the conservatory and he actually fell asleep, he was soooo cute, Ian just looked when he came through and saw me. In the end I rang the vets to find out what I should feed him, I had all these visions of buying him a paddling pool to play in and taking him out for walks on a lead so that he could meet the local ducks and make some friends, sadly thid was not to be, the vet told me off and said that I had to take him back to where I found him as his mother would be missing him, now I know she would be missing him but honestly she was no where to be seen, I made sure that I looked for her. Anyway, the decision was made to return him, instead of leaving him at the edge of the road though we took the chance on taking him to the nearest park to where I found him and let him go near the pond. It was so hard watching him running to the water and jumping in trying to find his mummy, but it had to be done, Ian and I watched for a few minutes then we left him as if we didnt I would have taken him home again. I often wonder if he did ever find his mom. I hope so but that is something I will never know.
Anyway, back to Bailey, when I got home I did a bit of working on Ian, you see I am starting to get the old charm back again, after a couple of hours of hounding (pardon the pun), he agreed to let Bailey stay next Friday night and go back Saturday, I dont think he even had the words out before I was emailing them to let them know.
Today has been really quiet, to be honest I have been in my pj's all day and only changed out of them into clean ones when I had a bath, I even cooked the Sunday roast in them, how lazy but comfy is that. After my bath I asked Ian to put some fake tan on my back so that when I go swimming I have a bit of colour. Once he left for work I put the rest of my tan on and I then did something that I have never done before, I filled my dish washer and tidied the kitchen up completely naked whilst waiting for it to dry, how rude. Its a good job that we have no windows in there due to it being at the back of the house and the conservatory built on to it. Normally I put it on upstairs and end up doing a dance in the bedroom to try and get it to dry and I always have my pants on so it really was a first, omg cant believe I am even putting it down on here what I have done!!! Anyway, i am dressed again now and just waiting to be all nice and brown in the morning, hopefully with no streaks.
I had a little conversation with Ian just as he was going to work, it went something like this:
Me: Just think when you come home tomorrow you will have a lovely bronzed wife, do you think you will recognise me?
Ian: I dont recognise you now
Me: Why?
Ian: Because your smiling
Me: Would you rather have me smiling or miserable?
Ian: Obviously smiling and happy because when you are happy then we are all happy
Guess there's no pressure there then!!
I just had a mad thought, now I know no-one will understand what I am going on about but I wonder if my friend has found Cynthia the three foot tall transexual yet, sorry had to get that in as I know it will make her laugh and I can now put her out of her misery, she doesnt exist, the only reason Cynthia was mentioned was in case I had gotten the telephone number wrong then the owner of the number wouldnt know who was.
